This App is a MAKAM - MAQAM - MODE glossary which provides basic characteristics, such as melodic formulas, intervallic structures and scales of four official music theory systems, as they are taught today.

-Byzantine Modes (Echoi) and
-Greek Folk Modes (Laikoi Dromoi)

the FULL VERSION of M-app gives the options of:

1. listening to each MAKAM
2. juxtaposition of makams - modes- scales that belong to different theory systems but share the same name and/or intervallic structure.

The M-app provides for each makam/maqam/mode:


1. Its name (in English and in its language of origin)
2. Its main characteristics (root, dominant and leading tones, direction)
3. Its intervallic structure (the intervals based on the corresponding music theory system)
4. Its pentachord/ tetrachord subdivisions.
